Orioles Call Up Infield Prospect Jordan Westburg

The long wait is finally over, Jordan Westburg is getting called up to the Baltimore Orioles per Jeff Passan.

To many Orioles fans, this day seemed like it would never come as Westburg, who had been producing in the minors, was inexplicably left down on the farm while some on the big league club struggled.  He kicked things into high gear this season, hitting .295 with 18 home runs and an OPS of .939. This is on top of his fantastic glove.

He currently ranks third in the Orioles farm system behind his teammate Colton Cowser and last year's first-overall draft pick Jackson Holliday. Hopefully he can come up and produce immediately for a team fighting for a playoff spot and is even in the race for the AL East.
